The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets pulled off one of the season’s biggest upsets on Saturday, picking up a 28-23 upset win over the No. 4 Miami Hurricanes in Atlanta.

Miami came into the game with a 9-0 record on the season, as the Hurricanes looked destined to make the ACC Championship and College Football Playoff.

While that could certainly still be the case, it’s not as much as an inevitability as it once seemed thanks to the Yellow Jackets.

Naturally, the win led to Georgia Tech’s student section storming onto the field in jubilation. As is often the case, the swarm of humanity picked up the goalposts and took them from the stadium to the surrounding area.

Their final resting spot ended up being a duck pond on campus. Not quite a river or lake, but an inspired effort nonetheless.

Georgia Tech’s ground game set the tone for the victory. The Yellow Jackets rushed for 271 yards on 48 attempts for a robust 5.6 yards per carry. Quarterback Haynes King led the way with 93 yards and a touchdown on 20 attempts.

Thankfully, the Yellow Jackets have a bye week this week and will return to action on Thursday, November 21, when they host the North Carolina State Wolf Pack. There’s plenty of time before then to retrieve the goalposts.
