As the remnants of Hurricane Helene make their way across the southeastern United States, college football has started to feel an effect.
Earlier this week, Florida A&M announced that its game this weekend against Alabama A&M would be postponed and rescheduled to November due to the storm.
On Friday, the Appalachian State Mountaineers announced that their game against the Liberty Flames, scheduled for September 28, would be canceled and not made up due to the storm.
The Liberty game scheduled for tomorrow is canceled due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene.

Appalachian State is located in Boone, North Carolina, where a state of emergency has been declared due to flooding.
Charlotte meteorologist Brad Panovich shared a video Friday morning showing floodwaters cascading through downtown Boone.

The Mountaineers will return to action on October 5 when they travel to Marshall to face the Marshall Thundering Herd. The Flames, meanwhile, will be off until Tuesday, October 8, when they start Conference USA play against the Florida International Panthers.
This game would have been the 11th all-time meeting between the two schools, but the first since 2014.
