Jalen Milroe exploded onto the scene in 2023. After a terrific regular season, the sensational Alabama quarterback led the Tide to the College Football Playoff. Milroe and the Tide fell to eventual champion Michigan, but there’s still a lot of hype around the quarterback this year.
The Tide underwent a serious change this offseason. Legendary head coach Nick Saban retired, leading to Alabama hiring Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer. At UW, DeBoer led the Huskies to their best season in over thirty years in 2023. They reached the National Championship Game but, like Alabama, also lost to the eventual champion Wolverines.
As Alabama prepares for the 2024 season, Milroe’s teammate CJ Dippre recently spoke about Milroe and his progression this offseason during camp.
“Jalen definitely works hard. I went down to Tampa with him, me and a few guys and we trained. Just having another connection on another level — we definitely became closer to a lot of other players on the offense,” Dippre said via Bama Online.
“We got new transfers in, new freshmen in that’ll play. So, he’s taking big steps in the role of becoming a better passer, not just a running quarterback.”
It’s safe to say Milroe has the team’s trust going into this year. He might become a serious threat on gameday with another offseason under his belt.
