The Louisville Cardinals lost to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this past weekend. Cardinals head coach Jeff Brohm was no fan of the officiating during that game on Saturday afternoon.
Brohm addressed the media on Monday and skewered the “questionable” officiating that occurred during the Cardinals’ 31-24 defeat to the Irish.
“Well, I don’t always agree with what the officials are seeing,” Brohm said. “I’ve never really seen a double pass interference call like that. I don’t understand that one still to this point.”
Brohm discussed a few ruled spots of the ball that were questionable since they never measured it, and it was “discombobulated.”
“In the end, we’ll get some calls. Some we don’t get; you gotta live with it and overcome it. We’ve just gotta convert those better,” he added.
Brohm and the Cardinals are 3-1 on the young season. This Saturday, they play the SMU Mustangs in an ACC matchup. The Mustangs are newcomers to the conference, of course, as they, Stanford, and Cal moved to the ACC this offseason. Thus far, it’s been an easy go for SMU, who are 4-1 thus far and 1-0 in conference play. They picked up their first conference victory ever
We’ll see if the officials get it right this weekend. Otherwise, we could see Brohm at the podium again, questioning some calls. The Cardinals and Mustangs will kickoff at Noon Eastern this Saturday.
