On Monday’s episode of The Joel Klatt Show, Klatt didn’t hold back on his feelings on the Indiana Hoosiers. The eighth-ranked Hoosiers have drawn the attention of everyone around the college football world. Klatt said they were the most underrated team in the country, but he didn’t stop there.
Klatt took issue with the way the AP Poll has put Indiana in a bad position. Preconceived notions have perhaps damaged Indiana’s perception, because they’ve done their job and done it very well, Klatt argued.
Klatt suggested that the team has an argument to be as high as second or third in the country in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season.
The Fox analyst pointed to the fact that many may strike Indiana’s schedule against him. But Klatt railed against that argument, and pointed out the hypocrisies in how they’re viewed vs. other schools like Michigan and Georgia last season.
“Let’s just put it to you this way. Last year, we saw Michigan and Georgia play cake schedules last year. Cake, and they were handling them. And what was everyone saying? Well, I know they’re not playing anybody, but they’re just beating everybody so badly. So it doesn’t matter.’ Why is that excuse not afforded Indiana? Why?” Klatt asked before he challenged the CFP Committee.
“Committee members, you’re about to see resumes without logos. And I implore you to rank the resume and not the logo,” Klatt challenged. He said that if the committee does that, then the Hoosiers will receive a much higher ranking.
