Southern Cal’s season has gone from bad to worse quickly in Los Angeles lately. USC picked up a win this weekend, but the 6-4 Trojans are having a dismal season. They haven’t transitioned well to the Big Ten Conference and continue to have disappointing performances. What’s worse, the Trojans’ future took a big hit this weekend.
Five-star quarterback Julian Lewis, the second-ranked quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class, decommitted from USC.
“Julian Lewis, the No. 2 player and quarterback in the 2025 class, decommitted from USC on Sunday,” ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Eli Lederman wrote on ESPN.com. They wrote that the move sealed up “A seismic development for one of the nation’s top prospects in the closing weeks of the recruiting cycle.”
Lewis took a visit to UGA this weekend, according to ESPN.com. The Bulldogs hosted the elite quarterback and chose a great time to do so, as they defeated the Tennessee Volunteers in a premier primetime matchup this weekend in SEC play.
Obviously, there’s no telling quite yet where Lewis will go. But it won’t be USC. The Trojans continue to fall down the ladder in college football. It can’t help USC to see Oregon prosper in the way that they have. The Ducks have transitioned incredibly well to the Big Ten, having won eight consecutive conference games in a row before their bye week this week.
