LSU Tigers running back John Emery Jr. will miss the remainder of the 2024 college football season.
After Sunday’s season opener against USC, Emery tore his ACL and will require surgery.
The Advocate’s Wilson Alexander reported the news on Wednesday afternoon.

Alexander’s report from The Advocate says that Emery reportedly suffered the injury during practice.
It’s a debilitating injury for Emery in so many ways. The former five-star recruit seemingly cannot catch a break. He tore his ACL last season as well against Florida, which ended his season.
Emery’s absence from the Tigers likely means an increased workload for both Josh Williams and Kaleb Jackson. But the news on Emery and his injury stings and is heartbreaking. Especially considering how he rallied to try and get back on the field this year. Football can be an amazing game and also a cruel one.
LSU hopes to rebound from its 0-1 start to the season. It’s the fifth year in a row the Tigers have begun in the hole, as they’re quite removed from the 2019 National Championship season. In any event, they will now have to trudge on without one of their stars.
