The LSU Tigers lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend. LSU felt the wrath of their arch rival from Tuscaloosa, as the Crimson Tide whomped the Fighting Tigers in Death Valley.

Jalen Milroe, in particular, was superb. He threw for 109 yards and went 12 for 18 passing. On the ground, however, is where he really made his mark. Milroe was Alabama’s leading rusher, running for 185 yards, and he scored four rushing touchdowns to boot.

If this feeling felt familiar to LSU fans? Well, it’s probably cause it is. Marcel Reed of Texas A&M scampered around against the Bayou Bengals too.

Joel Klatt spoke about this huge concern for LSU on Monday’s episode of The Joel Klatt Show.

“A big part of that was LSU cannot stop the running quarterback. And it’s a problem when something pops up and there’s a question that arises in your program. And then it perpetuates? That’s a problem. And that’s what Brian Kelly’s gotta fix, and that’s what Alabama and Milroe exploited.”

LSU cannot seem to scheme up defensively to stop running quarterbacks. Tigers head coach Brian Kelly may have discussed this after the game, but the struggles are clear as day to everyone regardless. The Tigers have to shore up, or time could run out very quickly in Baton Rouge.
