Missouri Tigers wide receiver Luther Burden III has made progress on his injury this week, and the likelihood of him playing Saturday has seemingly increased.
Burden appeared on Mizzou’s injury report on Thursday, but the Tigers listed the star wide receiver as “probable.”
That step forward may help pave the way for him to play against Auburn in a game his Tigers have to have.
On3 listed the injury reports for both Auburn and Mizzou ahead of their matchup this weekend.
Burden has 31 receptions, 398 yards, and four touchdowns in six games with Mizzou this season. Last week against UMass, he had five receptions for 59 yards, and took a jet sweep to the house for a rushing score. His last ‘big game’ was against Boston College, when he had six receptions for 117 yards and a receiving touchdown. He scored two touchdowns against Vanderbilt in a double-overtime victory.
He’s one of the most important players for Mizzou, so it’s a huge relief to say the least that he’s likely to be in the lineup this weekend.
Mizzou will welcome the Auburn Tigers to Columbia. Auburn has struggled mightily over the past few weeks, while Mizzou hasn’t looked like the part of a team many expected them to be this season. Both teams have time to turn it around, but this will be an important game this weekend.
