The Michigan Wolverines have struggled to adjust to life after Jim Harbaugh, so far.
While the Wolverines are 2-1 through their first three games, the two uninspiring wins came against the Fresno State Bulldogs and Arkansas State Red Wolves and the loss came at the hands of a 31-12 thrashing from the Texas Longhorns.
Quarterback play has been a glaring concern for head coach Sherrone Moore’s team this season. After not attempting to land a quarterback in the transfer portal and instead seemingly planning to go with Alex Orji as the starting quarterback heading into the year, Michigan announced Davis Warren as the starter late in camp, to the surprise of many.
On Monday, Moore announced that Orji would replace Warren as the starting quarterback for September 21’s Big Ten opener against the USC Trojans.

In his three starts, Warren went 48-for-72 for 444 passing yards and two touchdown passes. He also had six interceptions, which is already more than former Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy had in the 2023 season.
Orji has appeared sporadically for the Wolverines in their three games, going 3-for-6 for 15 passing yards, a pair of touchdowns, and 10 rushes for 58 yards. He replaced Warren for the fourth quarter of the Arkansas State game after Warren’s third interception.
