Five-star offensive line prospect David Sanders Jr. is without a doubt one of the most important prospects for the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2025 high school recruiting class given the team’s lack of success recruiting the offensive line in recent years, but it doesn’t sound like the Buckeyes are going to get good news of that front.
With the five-star talent set to announce his college decision on Aug. 17, college football recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong has predicted that David Sanders Jr. will ultimately commit to the Tennessee Volunteers over the Ohio State Buckeyes.
“Logged an On3 RPM in favor of Tennessee for them to land the nation’s No. 1 OT David Sanders Jr.,” Wiltfond said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

While Ohio State and Tennessee are widely seen as the frontrunners to land Sanders, he has also been considering the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Clemson Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs among his favorite schools.
Ohio State currently have just two offensive linemen committed in the 2024 high school recruiting class – Carter Lowe, who is rated as the No. 33 overall player in the class, as well as Jake Cook who is rated at No. 471.
Missing out on Sanders would obviously be a massive loss considering that offensive line play has been Ohio State’s Achilles heel in recent years.
