The Ohio State Buckeyes finally revealed who will be the team’s starting quarterback in Week 1. Kansas State transfer Will Howard will get the nod to command an impressive clipper in Columbus this year.
Howard earned the job by beating out quarterbacks Julian Sayin and Devin Brown during camp.
Head coach Ryan Day spoke on the decision to give Howard the nod in Week 1 vs. Akron.
“We’re really excited about Will,” Day said via the Ohio State X account. “He has really taken command of the offense.”

Ohio State’s decision to name Howard as their starter isn’t too surprising. He’s been the expected choice between the trio of quarterbacks on the Buckeyes roster. While there are positives about his play, concerns may reside on how things ended at K-State, with Avery Johnson taking over at quarterback last season after all.
Nonetheless, there were plenty who had something to say about the Buckeyes and their decision to name Will Howard as the team’s starter.

Yeah, I’m not sure this is what Ohio State fans had in mind when they chased McCord out of Columbus. https://t.co/pzZGOLapAu
