The Oklahoma Sooners’ first season in the SEC has been a mixed bag so far.
While the Sooners are 4-1 and 1-1 in conference play, they’ve already switched quarterbacks from Jackson Arnold to Michael Hawkins. They have meetings with Texas, Missouri, Ole Miss, and Alabama, all currently in the top 12 of the AP Poll, left on their schedule this season.
Coming into the season, head coach Brent Venables was surely expecting leading returning wide receiver Nic Anderson to make a big impact. Unfortunately, Anderson has played just a handful of snaps so far as he continues to rehab from a quad injury suffered over the summer.
According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Oklahoma’s wait may have gotten even longer. Zenitz reported Friday that Anderson is potentially still ‘several weeks away’ from a return.
It’s feared that Oklahoma star receiver Nic Anderson could miss several more weeks as he continues to work back from a quad injury, sources tell @247Sports/@CBSSports.

Last season, Anderson hauled in 38 receptions for 798 yards and ten touchdowns. His ten touchdowns tied him for the team lead with Drake Stoops, who led the team in receiving yards and is now with the Los Angeles Rams.
Anderson is the younger brother of former Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson.
