Amid chatter and innuendo that the team is faking injuries, the Ole Miss Rebels released a statement on Friday night.
The Rebels addressed the concerns that the team was feigning injury to turn the momentum around during the game. Dispruting game flow is another accusation levied towards Ole Miss by onlookers.
“Feigned injuries has become a notable topic in college football, and we realize our program has been part of that discussion,” the statement read via Michael Borkey. “We have been in communication with the National Coordinator for Football Officiating and provided relevant medical information for his review to answer questiosn about recent injuries. We have also updated the SEC office, and our head coach will communicate with our coaches and players to ensure we conduct ourselves properly and are compliant in this matter.”

College football reporter and podcaster Bud Elliott noted that the team had “clearly” been faking injuries against the South Carolina Gamecocks on an episode of the Cover 3 podcast from CBS.
“Ole Miss is clearly faking injuries,” Elliot had said.

Elliott then suggested that potentially amending the current rule can curb this happening. He suggested that players who have to be helped off the field need to be sat for the entire drive, not just one play.
Time will tell to see if Ole Miss will, indeed, respond to the allegations by deterring their behavior. The Rebels now will have a lot of eyes on them.
