Paul Finebaum Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Paul Finebaum wasn’t shy on his feelings about the current state of the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs are on the heels of a disappointing effort against Alabama over two weeks ago. They won this past weekend, but Georgia emerged victorious against Mississippi State in ugly fashion. They won 41-31 over a Bulldogs team that still hasn’t won a conference game.

Finebaum, a longtime SEC personality, joined The Matt Barrie Show on Sunday. He discussed the way the Southeastern Conference has played out this year. In doing so, he revealed his feelings on the Bulldogs and how they’ve played so far. It’s safe to say, ahead of Georgia’s big-time matchup against No. 1 Texas, that Finebaum believes the Longhorns are the better team.

Meanwhile, he thinks UGA is “hard to watch” right now.

“There’s no debate. Georgia–they’re a hard team to watch. I have a lot of confidence in Kirby Smart in getting things that maybe other coaches can’t. I don’t think he had that much talent on this team,” Finebaum said. He explained further, saying it was “in terms of just breakaway game talent that can compete with Texas right now.”

Finebaum joked that after Alabama and Georgia’s wonkiness the past two weeks, perhaps an investigation is needed.

“I wanna go back to September 28th in Tuscaloosa and check the air quality. Because both teams came out of that game dramatically different,” he joked.

The Bulldogs will play the Longhorns in a heavily-anticipated matchup this weekend.
