Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers sustained an injury in Saturday’s win over UTSA. After initial fears, it appears that Ewers won’t be out for an extended period.
On Sunday afternoon, ESPN’s Max Olson reported that Ewers avoided serious injury and suffered a strained oblique. That news gave Texas fans a warm sign of relief.
“Texas QB Quinn Ewers (oblique strain) is week-to-week and likely to miss the ULM game,” Olson wrote on X, the website formerly known as Twitter. He added that touted quarterback Arch Manning will have his first collegiate start this weekend.
