Will Shedeur Sanders suit up for the 2028 Olympics?

Eh, don’t get your hopes up.

The Colorado quarterback has a lot going on right now ahead of the start of the season. Sanders figures to be one of the top quarterbacks picked in next year’s NFL Draft. Sanders is among a pack that includes Quinn Ewers and Carson Beck, who all could go Top 10 next year. He’ll hope to guide the Buffaloes back to prominence this season. Last year’s ballyhooed season ended in futility. CU went just 4-8, an improvement but not what anyone sought. They’re hoping 2024 will be what they needed instead.

The 2028 Olympics, held in Los Angeles, will introduce flag football. But the Colorado quarterback doesn’t have his eye on the event.

“No,” Sanders said of potentially playing in the Olympics on his podcast via On3. “Cause bruh, you could get hurt,” he added.

Short and sweet. It makes sense from his perspective and will make for an interesting situation in a few years. The world’s best will want to be on the big stage. The United States has more talent at American football than virtually everyone else. But who will play? Who will want to play?

There are still many questions to answer, but one thing is certain: Shedeur Sanders won’t be playing in Los Angeles.
