While the South Carolina Gamecocks (3-1, 1-1 SEC) look to pull off an upset win over the No. 12 Ole Miss Rebels (4-1, 0-1 SEC), the program comes into the weekend having picked up a big win on the recruiting trail.
Jordan Gidron, a 6-foot-2 wide receiver from Columbia, South Carolina committed to his hometown school on Friday afternoon.
Gidron announced the news on his X account, showing off his skills in a South Carolina based video to go along with the announcement.

As Gidron points out in his video, he’s currently in the class of 2026 but will be reclassified to the class of 2025 and join the Gamecocks next fall, which ESPN confirmed.
Gidron visited South Carolina on September 14 and was on hand for the team’s 36-33 loss to the LSU Tigers. He had interest from a host of SEC and other local schools but ultimately chose to stay home and play for the Gamecocks.
Gidron’s commitment is a massive boost for Shane Beamer’s class of 2025, as ESPN reports that once he reclassifies, the wide receiver will be the top-rated player in the school’s class.
Four-star 2025 WR Lex Cyrus also committed to the Gamecocks over the summer, meaning quarterback LaNorris Sellers will have plenty of weapons starting next season.
