Rece Davis is still bullish on the Texas A&M Aggies. While A&M dropped its opener to Notre Dame, the Aggies still have a good chance of making noise this season. They’ve gotten through every test, and this weekend, will welcome a Top 10 Missouri team to College Station.

It will be a big game at 11 a.m. local time at Kyle Field. It will certainly impact the Aggies and their College Football Playoff chances. If A&M drops to two losses by October 5, while their season isn’t entirely over, it’s pretty darn close. But with that said, Davis, the College GameDay host, still thinks highly of A&M ahead of their matchup against Mizzou.

“Are you ready to rule them out?” Pete Thamel asked Davis on the College GameDay podcast. Davis wouldn’t do it quite yet.

“Not yet, because of the schedule,” Davis said. “I always say, if you’re not good enough, a loss will find you. But what if you’re good enough to navigate what you’re almost good enough? And you’re good enough to navigate the schedule in front of you? And you have the advantage of home games?” he asked, noting that A&M will play in College Station for many of their big games.

We’ll see what Mike Elko and the Aggies can do. Their first big test of October is this Saturday against the visiting Tigers.
