The Texas A&M Aggies undressed the Missouri Tigers on Saturday afternoon. Going into the game, controversy arose around a battle between Tigers wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. and Aggies cornerback Will Lee.
Wease noted that a blanket, appearing to be addressed by the Aggie cornerback, appeared in his hotel room before Saturday afternoon’s kickoff. Wease then took the blanket with him to the game, seemingly firing one right back at the Aggies.
Things didn’t go as planned for Missouri, who lost by double digits to Texas A&M. What’s worse is, after the game, head coach Mike Elko adamantly denied any involvement in the situation. In doing so, Elko appeared o accuse Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz of meddling and shenanigans.
“My suggestion would be you guys go ask Eli where that came from. Because I have a strong feeling that that came from the other side,” Elko adamantly told reporters after the game. “And had nothing to do with Texas A&M, Will Lee, or anybody over here. So, you should point that one on the other side.”
Texas A&M got the last laugh here, and it’s probably even worse if it was a concocted plan by Mizzou that went nowhere. Attempts to find motivation aren’t frowned upon, but you also have to stick the landing. Mizzou simply didn’t do that on Saturday morning in College Station. The Aggies ran them outta town, and they may be worse off now for it.
