Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond won’t suit up for the Longhorns this weekend.
The standout wide receiver, formerly of the Alabama Crimson Tide, had sustained an ankle injury several weeks back. After trying to give it a go, Texas listed Bond as “doubtful” on the injury report.
Then, on Friday, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Bond would miss Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt.
“Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond is expected to miss Saturday’s game at No. 25 Vanderbilt,” Nakos said.

Bond has proven productive with his new team this year. After two seasons in Tuscaloosa, he made the transition to Austin and has plaeyd very well. In seven games, he has 23 receptions, 380 yards, and four receiving touchdowns. That matches his total from all of last year with the Crimson Tide.
Texas has been hit by the injury bug this season between Bond, their running backs, and Quinn Ewers. This is another obstacle for the Longhorns to overcome, and they have their work cut out for them this year. Vanderbilt has been no pushover this year. Just ask Alabama.
We’ll see if Bond‘s absence affects Texas in any way.
