While Southern Cal felt the loss of Julian Lewis this weekend, it appears the Trojans bounced right back. Lewis may have decommitted from the program, USC had another option on the table.

The Trojans landed Husan Longstreet, a five-star quarterback formerly from Texas A&M.

“I’m home,” Longstreet said in a post on X.

USC has had it rough this season. The Trojans’ first season in the Big Ten Conference hasn’t gone as planned at all. They’re 6-4 entering the final two weeks of the season. They won’t be competing for a Big Ten Championship, let alone a College Football Playoff spot. Head coach Lincoln Riley has spiraled, leaving some to wonder if USC and Riley are long for each other.

It’s clear, though, that there’s still some juice there. Longstreet’s flip from the Aggies to SC certainly proves that.

Longstreet only stands behind Bryce Underwood in the 2025 quarterback rankings. Underwood’s recruitment has gotten heavy attention lately. The LSU commit has received significant interest from the University of Michigan. The Detroit native reportedly has a $10.5 million NIL offer on the table from the Wolverines, if speculation is to be believed.

But with that said, USC doesn’t appear to have any looming QB issues. Even after they lost an elite commit, the Trojans had a backup plan.
