The Toledo Rockets scored a huge win on Saturday. The Rockets went to Mississippi State and picked the Bulldogs apart. Scoring a rare victory over a Power 4 team, the MAC’s Rockets won 41-17 over the SEC’s Bulldogs.
After the win, Toledo head coach Jason Candle was extremely complimentary of his team. He also had plenty of great things to say about the Toledo program and the way the team played against Mississippi State, encouraging that winning can happen anywhere in the country.
“These are the types of schools that recruit our players right off our roster. It’s a message that you can succeed here,” Golden said via reporter Kyle Rowland.

Oftentimes, it is the Group of 5 who get picked on in the transfer portal. The big schools have come calling for the best of the best from the Group of 5 over the past few seasons. The game is the game, but it doesn’t make it any less satisfying when the G5 schools beat the big boys of the yard. Such was the case Saturday in Toledo‘s win over Mississippi State.
