The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks will name General Booty their starting quarterback for the 2024 college football season.
Booty, part of the famed quarterback family, will be tabbed as this year’s starter, according to college football reporter Matt Zenitz.
Zenitz posted the news on Booty and his status at Louisiana-Monroe on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.

UL-Monroe is Booty’s second stop in his collegiate career. The quarterback began in college at the University of Oklahoma. He hasn’t seen the field yet, so LaTech anointing him their starter is significant news at least.
General is best known for his two uncles, Josh and John David. The latter was a prized recruit at USC and appeared for the Trojans in the late 2000s. Meanwhile, Josh played for the LSU Tigers and earned a sixth-round NFL Draft selection in 2001. He also played for the then Florida Marlins from 1996 to 1998.
UL Monroe will begin the 2024 college football season with Booty under center against Jackson State. As Zenitz noted, the WarHawks also have a date with Texas on their schedule, which will be a big test.
