The Utah Utes have had a disappointing first season in the Big 12. Utah is out of contention for the Big 12 Championship in November. Before the season, many expected Kyle Whittingham and the Utes to transition well to their new conference. It seems as though it’ll be much more of an uphill battle. Now, one of their players will hit the transfer portal.
Utah running back Jaylon Glover announced his intentions to hit the portal on Tuesday.
Glover penned a messge to Ute fans on his choice to exit the program to find a new home.

“I want to say thank you to the University of Utah for welcoming me to my new home with open arms since my arrival,” Glover said. “I’ve met and built so many lasting relationships with staff, teammates, and fans. With a heavy heart, my family and I have made a decision ha we pray will benefit my future. With that being said, I will be forgoing the remainder of the season and redshirting to sustain my eligibility. I will be entering my name in the Transfer Portal on Dec. 8th,” he announced.
Glover will have two years of eligibility remaining. He’ll finish his career at Utah with 982 rushing yards on 227 carries and six touchdowns.
Glover is just the latest to enter the transfer portal, but he certainly won’t be the last. Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos also hit the portal earlier Wednesday. It’s that time of year, and as the season winds down, expect many more names to hit the portal.
