On Thursday night, the Virginia Tech Hokies improved to 4-3 and 2-1 in ACC play, cruising to a 42-21 win over the Boston College Eagles.
Virginia Tech’s blowout win was aided by senior running back Bhayshul Tuten’s career night. Tuten rushed for 266 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.
Tuten became Virginia Tech’s all-time single-game rushing leader, passing Darren Evans’ 253-yard output against the Maryland Terrapins in 2008.

“Every game is a special game. That’s how I look at it. I just felt a little better today. We had a bye week. I felt great throughout practice. I took the knee brace off (for a sore knee). I felt fast, I felt good, I felt fluid. I just came out and balled today, and that’s what we needed,” Tuten said after the game via ESPN.
Tuten’s big game came on an efficient 18 carries, resulting in a robust 14 yards per carry. His longest run of the night came on his first touchdown, which was an 83-yard scamper to put the Hokies up 21-0 early in the second quarter.
Three of Tuten’s touchdowns came on the ground, and one came on a 20-yard catch and run reception. His big night moved him to second in the ACC in rushing yards with 871. Tuten is just 30 yards behind North Carolina Tar Heels running back Omarian Hampton for the conference’s lead.
