Missouri Tigers softball coach Larissa Anderson received a well-earned contract extension on Friday, the program announced.
Anderson, who’s been head coach of the Tigers since 2019, will now serve as head coach until 2028.
“We’re pleased to announce that the University of Missouri Department of Athletics has extended the contract of head coach Larissa Anderson through 2028,” the program said.

Mizzou softball has been a very good program under Anderson. The Tigers have stood firm in the ultra-competitive Southeastern Conference. The Tigers have appeared in five NCAA Tournaments under Anderson and made the Super Regionals in 2021 and this past year in 2024. She is 217-115 at Mizzou since 2019 with a 62-60 record in conference play.
Mizzou’s best seasons under Anderson were certainly 2024 and 2021. Beyond the Super Regional appearances, the team went 42-17 in 2021 and 48-18 in 2024. They had a 15-9 record in SEC play in 2021, the best mark the Tigers have had under Anderson’s coaching.
Mizzou will likely stay competitive in the SEC even as it opens its doors to a juggernaut. Oklahoma, the big bad of college softball, has won the last four NCAA championships and joins the conference along with fellow powerhouse Texas. It should make for fun action on the diamond, if nothing else.
