After her heroics in the WNBA Finals, the Oregon Ducks sent their best to Sabrina Ionescu.

Ionescu won the game for the New York Liberty after she knocked down an absurd shot from the logo. Her iconic basket brought the Liberty ahead 2-1 in the Best of 5 series, meaning New York is one win away from a WNBA Finals victory.

The Ducks shouted out their most famous basketball alum, and so did her former coach.

“Was there ever a doubt?!?!” Ducks women’s basketball coach Kelly Graves exclaimed.

Ionescu’s heroics are nothing new. While she attended Oregon from 2016-2020, she helped bring the Ducks program to relevancy with her absurd play. She holds the record for most triple-doubles in women’s NCAA history with 26. Everyone’s fascination with Caitlin Clark was real, but so too was the fascination around Sabrina Ionescu.

The pivotal Game 4 in this year’s WNBA Finals between the Liberty and the Lynx will go down Friday night. With that, the New York Yankees and the New York Mets in the LCS in Major League Baseball, it has the potential to be an earth-shattering night in NYC. The Yankees are on the verge of clinching their first World Series berth since 2009. The Mets are down 2-1 in their series, so they’ll have to try and swing it.

Nonetheless, it was a huge night for the former Oregon superstar.
