Paige Bueckers is one of the biggest stars in women’s basketball. It doesn’t matter if it’s college or the pros, because the former National Player of the Year has gotten herself out there. Everywhere.
The UConn sensation was once the top recruit of a class that featured superstars Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, and Caitlin Clark. Bueckers has achieved lots in college basketball, and there’s a reason why many suspect she’ll go first in next year’s WNBA Draft.
Ahead of the 2024-25 college basketball season, her Hall of Fame coach sounded off on what he’d seen. It’s safe to say Geno Aureimma approves of what Bueckers has brought to the table.
The multi-time National Champion spoke glowingly of his star Husky. Aureimma didn’t hold back in praising Bueckers,
Coach Auriemma on Paige Bueckers: “This is the most aggressive I’ve seen her since she’s been here.”

On his star player, Auriemma said via UCTV, “This is the most aggressive I’ve seen her since she’s been here.”
That could be bad news for everybody else if Bueckers‘ tenacity swelled. She’s already shown herself to be an elite college basketball player. Anything additional might send her into a new stratosphere.
The Huskies are expected to do well yet again out of the Big East this season. Nationally, they’ll expect to contend with Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks, as well as superstar Juju Watkins and the USC Trojans out in LA.
