The Ohio State Buckeyes are the second-ranked team in the land following their defeat of Iowa this weekend. Ohio State will focus on the third-ranked Oregon Ducks for a heavyweight showdown in Eugene this weekend. Ahead of that matchup, one of Ohio State’s star players received well-deserved recognition from the Big Ten.

Wide receiver Emeka Egubka shined against the Hawkeyes, and the Big Ten honored the Buckeye star for his performance. Egbuka received co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors. Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Kurtis Rourke received the other share of the honor.

The Buckeyes noted the accomplishment with a post on their X account.

Egbuka hauled in nine receptions for 73 yards, but stood out with three receiving touchdowns. Wlll Howard had no problem throwing him the football and Egbuka seemed to have zero issue bringing in the football for points. The prolific day for Egbuka is another in a long line of great wide receiver performances at Ohio State.

The Buckeyes will have to bring their A-game this weekend. The Oregon Ducks are hosting their biggest game ever by AP ranking. There’ll be a hostile crowd waiting for them. But this Buckeyes team has seen it all and been through it all. It’s a battle-tested unit that will likely be ready for whatever is to come.

The college football world had much to say over the news on Egbuka.
