The Colorado Buffaloes will be without Shilo Sanders until potentially October. Sanders injured his forearm this weekend against the Nebraska Cornhuskers and will reportedly miss two to three weeks.
ESPN.com’s Adam Rittenberg wrote that Sanders underwent surgery to repair the damaged forearm this past weekend.
“Shilo Sanders went to the locker room after tackling Huskers running back Dante Dowdell on a run play,” Rittenberg wrote.
Sanders is in his sixth year of college football, having began his career back in 2019. He went from playing at South Carolina to Jackson State to the Buffaloes, two years at each spot. Sanders has 128 career tackles, 99 solo, seven passes defended, and six interceptions, with five forced fumbles to boot. He scored a touchdown in 2023, his only career touchdown.
The Buffaloes are in a predicament as things stand. They are 1-1 and even the most bullish and optimistic fan would be concerned about what’s occurred so far this year. They haven’t improved in any areas they struggled in last year. It feels like the wheels are going to fall off soon, and as the competition stiffens up, they could be in for more trouble.
Whatever the case, Colorado will play on without Shilo this weekend. They play rival Colorado State in Colorado Springs this weekend in what should be a hotly contested matchup.
