Kirk Ferentz is one of college football’s greatest coaches of the modern era. On Saturday, the Iowa Hawkeyes legend achieved a historic milestone.

With the Hawkeyes’ 40-16 victory over the Washington Huskies, Ferentz earned his 200th career victory with the program.

The Hawkeyes paused their game to recognize Ferentz’s accomplishment.

Iowa earned its fifth win of the season, as they are now one win away from bowl eligibility. Ferentz has had Iowa bowl-eligible in the last eleven consecutive seasons and 21 times throughout his career at the university.

Ferentz is Iowa’s all-time leader in wins in program history. He passed Hayden Fry several years ago for first all-time and it will take a lot for someone to surpass this mark. While he has his marks against him, Ferentz is the definitive coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes, a place he’s been at since even before the 21st century. He began his career at Iowa in 1999, and doesn’t appear to be ready to slow down there yet.

College football fans and Iowa alumni helped celebrate the milestone achievement for Ferentz after the clock hit zero. A hats off to him for this achievement, another in a long line for the longtime coach.
