The Oregon Ducks will be highly anticipated again this season. Ranked third in the AP Top 25, Oregon expects to contend in the new Big Ten right from the start this year. They have a talented roster with a plethora of exciting players, including quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
The well-traveled Gabriel played at UCF and Oklahoma before he arrived in Eugene this offseason. Dan Lanning and Co. recruited Gabriel to Oregon through the transfer portal. After their success with Bo Nix, few have doubted what could be on the way for the Ducks this season now.
The charismatic Lanning has made his mark on college football. It seems like many have an opinion on him, but those around him at Oregon adore him. Gabriel spoke highly of him to ESPN in a brilliant article on the Ducks head coach.
“I think he connects well with the players because he’s not like a grandpa,” Gabriel said via ESPN. “I think he does a damn good job of being real. He is able to be vulnerable with us, and that allows us to be vulnerable, which makes you gain confidence in one another and get closer.”
Gabriel and the Ducks will open the 2024 season against the Idaho Vandals on August 31. It should be yet another exciting season of Duck football at Oregon this year.
