After missing three games with an arm injury, Colorado Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders is cleared and ready to return to action.

Sanders’ father and head coach, Deion Sanders, shared the news during his weekly news conference.

“Shilo’s ready. He’s practicing. He’s full go,” Deion Sanders said. “Has a rubber cast on. He’s doing his thing. I can’t wait to see him back there.”

The younger Sanders suffered the injury in Colorado’s September 7 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Shilo Sanders started 11 games for the Buffs in 2023 and led the team with 70 tackles and four forced fumble.

He was also one of two Colorado defensive players to receive All-Pac-12 honors last season when he was named an honorable mention. In limited action this season, Sanders recorded eight tackles, most of which came in Colorado’s season-opening win over North Dakota State.

Colorado has had a great bounce-back from last season’s 4-8 finish. They’ve already surpassed their season win total and have a potential Heisman Trophy candidate in two-way player Travis Hunter.

Sanders’ return comes at a perfect time for Colorado as they host the Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday evening. Both teams are 4-1 and in the thick of the Big 12 championship race.
