Deion Sanders Colorado football coach Deion Sanders looks on against Texas Tech in a Big 12 football game Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Jones AT&T Stadium.

Rex Ryan doesn’t think Deion Sanders should be in Colorado for much longer. The former NFL coach-turned-ESPN analyst believes Sanders should take another coaching job.

Not just any coaching job either: The Dallas Cowboys head coaching job.

“Look, they gotta restart. But they gotta do something, in my opinion, like how are you gonna fix it?” Ryan said on Get Up.

“Well I look at a couple teams recently. I look at the Lions, who did they hire? One of their former players, Dan Campbell. How about the Houston Texans? Former player, one of their former players, DeMeco Ryans. I can see Aaron Glenn going to New Orleans next year or the Jets. You know, former player. Deion Sanders may be in play here,” Ryan said. “They need something. They need someone to have the pride in that damn organization. Being a Dallas Cowboy, the pride you take in it. And by the way, Deion, everywhere he’s been he’s been kicking you know what. Jackson State, they were unbelievable when he was there. He takes Colorado, they’re 7-2. Nobody saw that coming.”

Ryan believes the entire Dallas operation is going to blow up, signaling the end for head coach Mike McCarthy. He stumped for Sanders because of the respect he brings to the table.

“Watch what happens. They need that,” Ryan argued. “How are you gonna get this kid back on board? He’s gonna have to damn respect that guy who comes into that building. Not gonna respect Deion Sanders? He’s twice the player you are. Alright? And I coached Deion Sanders. Great teammate!”

It’s a fascinating idea that will likely gain more traction as time passes.
