The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are having one of the best opening weeks in recent college football memory.
After traveling to Ireland and escaping with a 24-21 upset over the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles, the good times kept rolling for Georgia Tech, as they secured a commitment from four-star 2025 defensive tackle Christian Garrett on Monday.
Garrett, who de-committed from the Georgia Bulldogs on August 11, checks in at No. 135 on ESPN’s 2025 Top 300 recruiting rankings and is the seventh-best defensive tackle in the class.
Hayes Fawcett of On3 posted the news Monday morning with Garrett confirming it shortly after.

The 6’4 280 DL from Bogart, GA was previously Committed to Georgia

Georgia Tech now has five in-state commits in the ESPN300 for 2025, the most in school history. Garrett is the second-highest-ranked recruit in the class behind offensive tackle Josh Petty, who checks in at No. 27 on the ESPN300 and committed to the school earlier this month, just a day after Garrett de-committed from Georgia.
The Yellow Jackets will look to continue their streak of success during their home opener on August 31 when they’ll host the Georgia State Panthers.
