The Arkansas Razorbacks pulled off one of their biggest wins in recent memory over the weekend when they knocked off the No. 4 Tennessee Volunteers, 19-14.

Perhaps most surprising in the upset victory was that the Razorbacks lost starting quarterback Taylen Green early in the fourth quarter with a knee injury and had to be replaced by backup Malachi Singleton, who led the game-winning touchdown drive and scored the game-winning touchdown when he scrambled into the end zone from 11 yards out with 1:17 to play.

Arkansas’ bye week is an opportune time for both Green and the squad, as the quarterback now has a week to recuperate.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, head coach Sam Pittman shared a positive injury update on Green, who is suffering from a bone bruise in his knee.

“We don’t think it’s an MCL, now. More of a bone bruise. And very, very sore on him. Hopefully he’ll be back by LSU. It’ll kind of be day-to-day right now. But our diagnosis was not any ligament damage,” Pittman said via On3.

So far this season, Green has gone 107-for-189 for 1,502 passing yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions. The junior quarterback also has 326 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

The Razorbacks return to action on October 19 against the LSU Tigers. Should Green not be able to start, Singleton will fill in again.
